Well….Winter has finally made its appearance. Parents are reminded to please make sure that your child comes to school appropriately dressed for the weather. For those days that will be inside, -20 or less, it is also important to dress warmly in case of any difficulties with busing.
Students are reminded that they are not to be on the ice rink without a helmet.

On October 10, 2013 Prespatou Elementary/Secondary school will be hosting a presentation by Author Sigmund Brouwer and Hockey Legend Bryan Trottier.
The Rock and Roll Literacy® Show
The Rock & Roll Literacy® presentation was created for kids (and adults) of all ages. Sigmund Brouwer brings his unique sense of play to the serious business of learning to read and write. Armed with music, humor and heart, he connects the dots for people who work with kids to cultivate reading and writing skills.

Terry Fox Run On Thursday, September 26 at 10:45 a.m., we will run to fight against Cancer in the annual Terry Fox Run. In honour of Terry and to help those suffering from Cancer, we are asking for voluntary donations of $1 to be brought to the school Thursday. Come join us to support this cause.
House team Color Day
On Thursday we are having our first house team competition and will have a wear your color day. This will occur on the same day as the Terry Fox Run. Leopards are purple, Wildcats are red, Jaguars are green and Bobcats are yellow. Wear some of that color or as much as you can!
Soccer Teams in FSJ Friday
Grade 7 and 8 students will board the bus at 8:55 and head to play 4 games against other school this Friday. The two teams will steadily play games between 10:00 and 1:45. Stop by Surrerus Fields to cheer if you can.
PAC Meeting- General Elections
The next PAC meeting and general elections will be on October 2, at 7:30 pm.

School Starting Date: September 3rd 2013
School Starts: 9:00 am
9:00 All students and staff go to the gym for an assembly
9:20 All students (K-8) will go with their teachers to their home rooms for the rest of the morning.
9:45 Secondary students do a rotation through their schedule, rotating every 15 minutes.
Students will be dismissed at 11:00 am
Regular classes will begin on Wed, September 4th at 9:00 am.

- June 29 – Last day for students – awards assembly
April 28 was Jeans Day at the school. The students bought buttons and hockey cards and managed to raise $520 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
