Prespatou – Rescheduled Skiing at Worsley

Ski Trip- Thursday, Feb.26

We have the new date set for our Ski Trip for grades 4-12! Unfortunately, weather caused us to cancel last trip. Please advise the school if you can still supervise or can now again supervise, and we are looking for two more supervisors for our bus and then at the hill. Please also advise if you have already paid and can no longer make it on this date.

Northern Lights College Tour – Dawson Creek Campus

Students from Prespatou students, and Clearview students, were welcomed Northern Lights College on February 18. The students toured the new Energy House, Carpentry Shop, Health Services Building, Aircraft Maintenance, Dorms and the kitchen for Cook Training. The students were told about the option of Dual Credit Programs where they could get College Credit and High School Credits for graduation.

Thank you to Miss Hayes for travelling as a sponsor from Prespatou!!!!

Prespatou – Jr. Skills Competition at Skills Canada BC

On January 23 a number of grade 8 and 9 students attended the Jr. Skills Competition in Dawson Creek, put on by Skills Canada BC. Two grade 9 students attended the Women in Trade seminar, seven grade 9 students attended the Try a Trade portion of the event and five grade 8 students participated in the Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition. Congratulations to all our students who attended.

A great big thank you goes out to Mr Aitken and Miss Hayes who both attended as teacher sponsors.

Miss Hayes said “Well, we did not place in the competition, but this bridge did hold the full weight for the time needed! Unfortunately it shifted a bit during the competition and touched the side of the platform so it was disqualified. Next year we just need to refine the design to be a bit narrower and we might place! The kids had a lot of fun and did a great job with their designs.”
